This Privacy Policy explains how financeclub.ai ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information when you visit our website, create an account or purchase a membership. By using financeclub.ai, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account details — name, email address and password when you sign up.
  • Profile details — job title, employer, location, bio, LinkedIn URL or other information you choose to add to your profile, including for the Networking section.
  • Payment details — when you purchase a membership, your payment is processed by our payment partner (Razorpay). We receive confirmation of payment, the amount, currency, transaction ID and the last four digits of your card or the payment method used. We do not receive or store your full card number, CVV or banking credentials.
  • Communications — messages you send us by email or through the platform, including support requests and feedback.
  • Content you submit — comments, questions asked in live classes, and any material you post in networking or community areas.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — pages visited, modules started and completed, certification progress, live classes attended, materials downloaded, and time spent on the platform.
  • Device and technical data — IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, referring URL and approximate location derived from your IP address.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 7.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate your login;
  • Deliver the membership you purchased, including courses, live classes, certification tracking, learning materials, job listings and networking features;
  • Process payments and send purchase confirmations and receipts;
  • Track your learning progress and issue certificates;
  • Respond to your support requests and communicate about your account;
  • Send service updates, new module or live class announcements, and (with your consent where required) marketing emails, which you can unsubscribe from at any time;
  • Analyse how the platform is used so we can improve content and functionality;
  • Detect, prevent and investigate fraud, unauthorised access, credential sharing or other violations of our Terms of Service;
  • Comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting requirements.

3. Legal basis for processing

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the membership you purchased;
  • Legitimate interests — to secure the platform, prevent fraud, improve our services and communicate with members;
  • Consent — for marketing emails and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time;
  • Legal obligation — to retain payment and tax records.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the platform, including Supabase (authentication and database hosting), Razorpay (payment processing), Lovable (website hosting and infrastructure), email delivery providers and analytics tools. These providers process data only on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Other members — profile information you choose to make visible in the Networking section is viewable by other members. You control what you include in your profile.
  • Third-party job listings — if you apply for a role listed in the Job Opportunities section, you will be directed to the employer's or job board's own site, which has its own privacy policy. We do not send your details to employers.
  • Legal and safety — where required by law, court order or government request, or where necessary to protect our rights, members or the public.
  • Business transfers — if financeclub.ai is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred to the new owner subject to this policy.

5. International transfers

financeclub.ai serves members worldwide. Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, including India, the United States and the European Union, where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect information transferred across borders.

6. Data retention

We retain your account and learning data for as long as your membership is active. Because memberships are lifetime, this means we keep your data until you ask us to delete your account. Payment and transaction records are retained for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically up to 8 years). Usage and analytics data may be retained in aggregated or anonymised form indefinitely.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in and remember your preferences (strictly necessary);
  • Understand how members use the platform (analytics);
  • Measure the effectiveness of our marketing (where you consent).

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in or using parts of the platform.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Delete your account and personal information (subject to records we must retain by law);
  • Object to or restrict certain processing;
  • Withdraw consent to marketing at any time;
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@financeclub.ai from your registered email address. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and row-level security on our database. Payment information is handled entirely by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment partner. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your password confidential and do not share your login with others.

10. Children

financeclub.ai is intended for finance professionals and students aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

11. Third-party links

Our platform links to external sites, including job listings, news sources and tools referenced in learning materials. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or a notice on the platform before they take effect. Continued use of financeclub.ai after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
